AntiVir Personal Edition Any Good?

Yea. I'm using the Avast free version now. What I don't like is that
when you run a full scan, It stops everytime it finds one. I want one
that I don't have to watch while it scans and just reports at the end.

Put a virus file in a folder at the top of your C:\ drive. (put a warning
on the folder; rename any executables to .txt)

Start your scanner. It will stop right away and warn you of the virus, at
which point you tell it to "ignore" it, and to handle all subsequent
identifications the same way. This will result in a report that you can
follow up on.

As far as the Avast vs. AntiVir debate is concerned, I use both and
suspect that AntiVir is better (it catches more of the bugs in my little
collection). Neither one of them is as good as Kaspersky.
