Antivir internet update

does anyone else have problems with the Antivir internet update?

9 out of 10 times it can't reach the update server. Also the website
free-av.com is unavailable.

do I have to look for an alternative or what?

I was about to write about this.

The last major updates dealt with connectivity. I noticed reduced d\l
speeds with each update. This update doesn't allow connection.

It's probably an oversight. If they do give free users limited access
to the previously fast servers, I'll cry. Great AVG!

The problem with the update is due to a new program release - that happened
already the last time when they released a new version. It seems they
underestimated the number of users and now their server cannot handle the
traffic. The program is still continued. During the last update, I have
been advised to try it "late at night", that is 3-5 MET, because at that
time their server would still have reserves. ;)
