antispyware vs firewall

i installed microsoft antispyware beta,its better than
the one i paid for....but after installing,my windows
firewall will not connect and stays deactivated,why is
this so???????
 
I have been hunting for this solution ofr two weeks on
and off. I have two computer at home that had the
firewall disabled and I could not figure out how to get
it back on. I knew the spyware software caused the
problem because it removed something. I just was not
able to figure out what was removed that caused the
problem since there was so much CRAP on the system.
