AntiSpyware SLOWs computer to crawl

Just installed AntiSpyware Beta1. When I run it, it slows
the computer to a crawl. This is true whether Real-Time
Protection is active or not. I notice, after it has run,
that its red icon in the systray multiplies to upwards of
10 red icons whenever I run another program...visually, it
seems that the slowness of the computer correlates to the
number of little red icons growing in the systray.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Do you use TightVNC or RealVNC or any other VNC application to remote
control your computer? Also, is this a Tablet PC? This seems to affect most
if not all Tablet users.

If its not any of the above, like someone said, its just a weird phenomenon
that should be fixed by beta 2.

Under Taskmanager, the Microsoft AntiSpyware Processes are represented by,:
gcasDTServ.exe and gcasServ.exe, if those are running, Real time protection
is enabled.

You can also try doing a repair:
Go to Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware
and click Change. Click Next, and then click Update.

Andre-

Appreciate the reply. Unfortunately I do not use "TightVNC
or RealVNC or any other VNC application" (don't even know
what they are) and the computer is not a Tablet PC but a
standard Dell Dimension 8400 with nuttin unusual that might
conflict (except of course maybe Norton Internet Security).

I will try the suggestion of a Repair, hadn't thought of
that, thanks. If the doesn't fix it, I'll wait for Beta2.

Somethings definitely broken about your install--not implying fault here at
all. The icons indicate restarts of the app, I think, which partly explains
the performance issue.

The two remedies are the update (repair) install, or, if that also fails,
uninstall, delete installation folder and subfolders, and then reinstall.

If those both fail, I'd go for waiting for beta2--but you're the one doing
the work!
