I have installed Microsoft AntiSpyware version 1.0.501
along with Spybot. Every time I try to "Remove Possible
Threats",
the Microsoft AntiSpyware program stops responding and has
to be shut down VIA Task Manager.
Any Ideas/ input??
PS.
I have to send this post VIA Mozillz Firefox since Internet
Explorer Pop-up windows close unexpectedly and consistantly!!

John,

Try booting to Safe Mode and running MSAS from there. It appears that
you have a very active infestation that is "shielding" the malware.
Do a scan in Safe Mode and then reboot to Normal mode and scan again.
Please let us know if this helped. Thanks.

Steve,
I tried Safe Mode and yieled no spyware, in normal mode I
get no hits as well. I guess it may have been a false alarm.
I still had to go to Firefox though, the pop-up windows
still close on their own.

John,

You're getting constant popups that close on their own ? Is that
correct ? If so, then it appears as though the malware is present and is
fighting with the installed spyware programs for control of the system.
Did you attempt scanning the system with Spybot in Safe Mode ?
