Antispyware killed internet access

I'm talking to myself! :-)

I got on the phone with Dell since the original post, and
they had me reinstall the WinSock software. It fixed the
problem. Apparently, the AntiSpyware corrupted it.

Hope this helps anyone else with the same...
 
Glad that you got this fixed, but I want to correct your
impression of what happened if I can:

The interruption in the Winsock chain happens as spyware
is removed--that is, it's a consequence of the current
method of removing spyware, rather than accidental
corruption. Microsoft has a KB article which explains
this somewhat and gives the information needed to fix it:
