I had previously successfully installed, updated and used MSAS on a Dell
8100 running XP Pro SP2. There were two registered Administrator level
users not counting the Administrator. I installed under one of the
registered users. Then several days later I switched to the other
registered user and MSAS failed to start with the settings error and then
the unexpected error and finally an Error 101. Subsequent attempts to
install give me the 1904 error. The file that does not register is
hashlib.dll.

I have been unable to install since.

I tried installing to a different directory--same problem.

I logged in as the Administrator and tried--same problem.

I checked the Uninstall program and it does not do a good job so I
researched the files that were not removed and got more (hopefully all) of
them off the system. Still the same problem.

I have four other successful installations running but I will probably
uninstall them until I can find a way of getting this one system to run. I
may log in as The Administrator on one of them to see if this affects the
installation.

I copied the Error log file for the unsuccessful installs and included it
below.

If any one has a new solution please let me know.

I forgot to mention that I tried the A/R Programs approach using MSAS
Maintenance on every iteration.
