If I de-select the option to connect to SpyNet, the
gcasDtServ.exe STILL starts up when I launch the
AntiSpyware program.
Also, if I de-select the option to connect to SpyNet,
disable Real-time protection, and disable startup of
Antispyware, no AntiSpyware programs are loaded as
expected. However, once I launch the AntiSpyware
program, then shut it down the gcasDtServ.exe STILL
remains running.
I would expect the gcasDtServ.exe to stop running under
this circumstance. Actually, it makes it seem that this
AntiSpyware software is creating spyware itself. If I
close down an application I expect ALL programs
associated with that particular application to shutdown
and NOT keep running and sucking up memory needlessly.
You can also witness this with the msmsgs.exe process.
If I do NOT have Windows Messenger runnning, or I close
down Windows Messenger, msmsgs.exe continues to
needlessly run.
