Sir Nikon

I have noticed an issue with the latest beta version of
Microsoft AntiSpyware. I configured the settings under my
username and set the program to monitor for Internet
Explorer hijack attempts. When switching to another user
and opening Internet Explorer, I have found that the
custom settings created under the different user account
are considered a browser hijack attempt. The only way to
prevent the settings to not be changed to the settings I
have under my username is to "allow the hijack attempt."

Just thought this issue is one that you all may enjoy.

Hi Sir,
Not sure the folks at MS are truly 'enjoying' this one. :) They are
certainly aware of it, and are working on clearing it up.

Along with this problem it gives you the optionto remeber
the setting you chose ie allow. but the next time I login
to that user I get the same warnings again. Obviously the
remeber function isn't working. This also applies to the
scan when it detects the possible hijack and you select
ignore always...it just picks it up again on the next
scan. Overall seems to be a good product in the making
but has a few quirks to work out yet.

I have noticed this as well.
I use Firefox. My wife and I have our own "accounts" on
the computer. When switching back and forth, we encounter
that message. I am unsure how to disable it. I have found
zero spyware (running Zonealarm Pro, Norton's, Adaware), so
I may disable Microsoft Antispyware, and use it manually.

This is obviously an issue that is attributed to the non-support of multiple
and limited accounts in XP. I guess you just have to wait until Beta 2
arrives to expect a fix for it.
