Anti Virus

Will this "spyware" tool expand to be an anti "virus" tool
(search engin and on access scan already there ... just
other signatures) ???
 
I doubt that even MS knows for sure, and it's absolutely sure that if anyone at MS knew, they could not say yet, due to
"non-disclosure agreements(NDA) made to their employer.
 
Currently, the antivirus activity is being provided by a separate set of
tools--the "Malicious software removal tool:

There are clearly grey areas between objects clearly covered by the
Antispyware application and viruses, but I agree with Mark Ferguson's
answer.
