Anti-trojan programs

Has anyone tried Ewido? I came this anti-trojan program but the site is in
German so I am not able to understand what the freeware version will or will
not do.

I also found A2 free anti-trojan scanner which I have downloaded but not yet
installed.

regularly. You will be happy with both.

Tried it and liked it. Only one English www page at the moment,
here <http://www.ewido.net>, more coming they claim.
Free version has scanner only (for on-demand scanning),
resident shield (guard) only in Pro (payware) version.

I installed A2 and it required registration for updates. I registered
but was never able to download and update the program. Never really
worked for me so uninstalled. I do get an occasional email newsletter
from them, a2 Security Ticker, with notification about a new
worm/trojan. It's interesting and infrequent enough that I don't
consider it spam. I may try the program again to see whether it has
improved.

I installed ewido just recently but it failed to find any of the known
trojans I keep around for testing purposes so it also got uninstalled.

The only worthwhile anti-trojan software I've found so far has been
payware.

Actually, KAV antivirus with extra dats plus spyware scanners such as
Spybot and AdAware are about as good as you can get. One way of
getting around the payware situation with KAV is to use the anti-up
program from my web site. SuperLite doesn't do any removal, but if you
play your _prevention_ cards right, you'll never have to remove
malware anyway.

This is only good for Windows 2000 and Windows XP, none of the other
flavors.
