Seen a lot of threads about anti static so I thought I'd post this .
Take one old useless domestic appliance and cut of the power cable , two core is best as they are nice and flexible . Cut of the two power pins with a hacksaw blade . Place the two cables in the earth socket and remove the fuse and holder . Strip about 6" of cover from other end of cable , twist into a round shape and crush with pliers . Job done , time taken 10 minutes . Now you can plug this handy gadget into any socket and connect the two ends , one to a wrist or ankle strap and the other to a anti static mat or even your pc's case .
Overkill , over cautious , maybe . Let me ask you this are you stupid enough to go walking in the countyside in winter without a coat .
