Downloaded and Installed in XP Home edition fine.
Unfortunately, once rebooted, my Microsoft Security
Center Firewall was deactivated. I was unable to
reactivate. I ended up having to use System Restore to
return PC to original state. Looks like a promising
application but this needs attention.

Did you just install or did you also scan and remove/quarantine any files?

You might try the command below at the command prompt:

NETSH WINSOCK RESET

Then reboot.
