I prefer to view on the ISP's server, download what I want & delete the
rest.

Here is my info, links are like us, they die. If any of these links are
dead or are no longer freeware, at least you have the name of the
program which you put into a search engine like Google & maybe you can
let me know the latest info.
I am not recommending anything, my list gives you a starting point to
find something to suit your operating system ( most people do not even
mention it ) & skill level. What will work on my computer, may not be
happy on yours. What I can understand, re how to install & run, may not
apply to you.

It works transparently, automatically marks or deletes spam, and it supports
plugins so you can use any number of methods to recognize spam.

I find the default filters in Thunderbird (once trained) do a pretty
good job)...that and my mailhost runs spam assassin ;)

I agree absolutely, no filter is so trustworthy that you don't have to
eyball the headers to make sure it isn't dumping unexpected, but that you'd
want to receive.

From your long list I'd suggest Poptray, only because when mailwasher wnet
payware, and I felt a bit dishonest keeping the old version, this is the
one that I found to be an excellent replacement, possibly even better,

I have had complaints about the smallness and unmakebiggerability of the
font, but if you've got 20/20 vision (with bins!), you could give it a try.
