Are there keyloggers which don't show up in wintop or msconfig. And if
so are there freeware anti-keylogger programs to find them.

Thanks.

Theres a free prog here
http://dewasoft.com/privacy/kldetector.htm
(does not work on 95 or 98 though according to spec) , that says it can
detect keyloggers.I havent used it (using w98) so cant comment on it
effectiveness.Other sources (just google for these) like spybot , adaware ,
and escan virus tool utility (uses kav engine) have good detection on
keyloggers too.

Did you hear the one about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac?
He would stay up late every night and wonder if there was a dog.

I second Microworlds escan
(http://www.mwti.net/antivirus/free_utilities.asp). Very good at
detecting not just keyloggers but viruses and even adware.
It does give you a nag screen when you exit though.

LOL

Guess I won't be using them, then

Well, you can tell AA to ignore them, that is what I did when I was
checking on my son (16 Y/O finally found adult web sites :)). I
installed the keylogger on his machine, updated AA, told it to ignore
the one I installed and went from there.

Just a thought.

My testing of AA with one keylogger failed. I think they only detect those
that sites put on your computer.

I can assure you that is not the case. I installed 3 seperate
keyloggers on my snadbox and AA found them all. I just told it to
ignore them and...it did.
