Antec True480 Smells Like Burning Rubber

I have an Antec True480 power supply. Ever since I've swapped in this
PSU, there is a slight (not over powering) smell like burning rubber
or hot rubber. I have monitored the essential voltages and fan
speeds, and everything reads normal. I have and ASUS P4P800 mb, and
I'm using Asus Probe to measure voltages and fan speed.

Is it normal for this power supply, or other high voltage PSUs, to
give off a little stench?

This is pretty normal when a supply is new. If it doesn't go away within a
week or two I'd look into swapping it out. The Antec True480 is a great
power supply.

I assumed the smell was due to a fire retardant material. I have two
Antec cases, one with a HEC supply, the other with a CWT Truepower,
and they both smell the same - BAD. The smell doesn't go away, and if
anything, becomes more rancid with age. You can still smell it even if
the computer is unplugged, so it doesn't need heat to smell, although
that makes it worse. That is the reason I asked once, whether anyone
knew of power supplies that didn't smell, but no one responded with a
suggestion. Judging by the lack of complaints, maybe only some people
can smell it ?
