I just bought an Antec 303XP power supply off of ebay and I have a few
questions (that google couldn't answer). First, the "manual" claims it has
a 3 pin fan connector that my power supply is missing. Second, it claims
to have a main on/off switch that my power supply is missing. It has
serial numbers and other "official looking" stickers on it that don't
appear to have been tampered with. I did a brief test (with a paperclip)
and the supply does receive power, but it won't power my board (unknown
that came with a Dell XPS H266 back in 1997). So, I guess my question is
this...did I get ripped off here? Or does anyone know why it won't run my
board? All connectors are attached to the board except for the 4 pin 12V
connector (that the "manual" says is not required).

Thanks for your help

It doesn't. Are you sure it was the correct manual? Perhaps the last
revisions had it and the manual was updated, but i'm sure those models I
had, didn't have the connector.

Mine didn't have the on/off switch either.

Your Dell most likley uses a proprietary power supply that has same
physical dimensions of case and connector but is electrically,
pin-incompatible. That was a REALLY poor judgement on Dell's part.

I don't recall, but your board might now be dead.

Here's what I believe to be the correct pinout for the original Dell power
supply and motherboard 20-pin atx-like connector:

Pin Voltage Color
--- -------- ------
1 5 Red
2 Gnd Black
3 5 Red
4 Gnd Black
5 PwrGood Grey or Orange
6 5VSB/FP Purple
7 12 Yellow
8 -12 Blue
9 Gnd Black
10 Gnd Black
11 PS-On Brown or Grey
12 Gnd Black
13 Gnd Black
14 Gnd Black
15 -5 White
16 5 Red
17 5 Red
18 5 Red
19 5V sense Brown?
20 5 Red

Then there's the 6-pin (blade) aux. motherboard connector similar to an AT
PSU connector. I don't recall if Dell's boards always used it too or not,
but I suspect so since it's the only way the pinout I'm providing would
supply 3.3V power.

Pin Voltage Color
---- --------- -------
1 Gnd Black
2 Gnd Black
3 Gnd Black
4 3.3 Orange or Blue w/white stripe
5 3.3 Orange or Blue w/white stripe
6 3.3 Orange or Blue w/white stripe

There are sources for an adapter cable, which would be cheaper than
purchasing a Dell PSU and eating the loss or reselling effort for the
Antec.

I"m not "sure" who still has them but a couple of places that did, IIRC,
are:
