Hi,
I am trying to set up my Windows XP wireless network,
using a linksys access point. The whole purpose is to
share my DSL connection on three computers including the
gateway machine.
I had everything configured and running fine on Windows
ICS (Internet Connection Firewall disabled), until I
realised that CuteFTP did not work. Many hours of
investigation and trial and error later, I came to the
conclusion that I needed to disable the ICF / ICS service
to make CuteFTP work.
Then came the next problem: no ICS. So I decided to use
an independent software: PPPshar (apparently easy to use)
At this stage I am trying to reset the TCP/IP parameters
and make all PC's talk to one another, using fixed IP
addresses on the 255.255.255.0 subnet.
So the gateway is 192.168.0.1 and the clients 192.168.0.2
and 192.168.0.3 respectively.
Both clients see the gateway and can ping it, client 2
can also ping client 3, but neither the gateway nor
client 3 can see client 2!
This is driving me nuts and I'd appreciate any help you
could offer.
