Another wireless network problem

Hi,
I am trying to set up my Windows XP wireless network,
using a linksys access point. The whole purpose is to
share my DSL connection on three computers including the
gateway machine.

I had everything configured and running fine on Windows
ICS (Internet Connection Firewall disabled), until I
realised that CuteFTP did not work. Many hours of
investigation and trial and error later, I came to the
conclusion that I needed to disable the ICF / ICS service
to make CuteFTP work.

Then came the next problem: no ICS. So I decided to use
an independent software: PPPshar (apparently easy to use)

At this stage I am trying to reset the TCP/IP parameters
and make all PC's talk to one another, using fixed IP
addresses on the 255.255.255.0 subnet.

So the gateway is 192.168.0.1 and the clients 192.168.0.2
and 192.168.0.3 respectively.

Both clients see the gateway and can ping it, client 2
can also ping client 3, but neither the gateway nor
client 3 can see client 2!

This is driving me nuts and I'd appreciate any help you
could offer.

Philippe

i have the same kind of probmel are u using thr same
operating system and got any firewalls running.

Hi,
I use the same operating system on all PC's (XP) and
McAfee Personal Firewall (properly configured to trust
all IP addresses on my network).

It also used to work fine when I had it configured
through the Network Setup Wizard to share my broadband
connection, the problem occurs now that I have manually
configured each wireless connection.

Another clue (?): I did manage to get every machine to
recognise one another last night, tried again an hour ago
and I'm back to the original problem, although this time
it's the gateway that isn't seen elsewhere.

I'm losing my sanity over this, surely it's not that hard
to manually configure an IP network?
