Karen

Good Afternoon,
I'm having another problem with Windows Update. This only
started happening the last few days. When I read the new
updates and click the ''read more'' or ''supported
hardware''nothing happens. A little IE icon flashes on
the toolbar almost like a page or window wants to open
but it doesn't. I don't know know what the problem could
be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Hello Karen,
Do you have a popup ad remover program (or even if it is a browser add-on), then please close it or disable it.
A browser add-on, such as AdShield, is only the latest current example of a utility causing a blockage.
IF that's what you have, then, add Microsoft update site onto its exclusion list (similar to a safe sites list).

If you have a "security suite" (from one of the antivirus vendors) , please state which maker/version.
Also see if they have a "exclusion" or "safe sites" section.

Thank You Maurice. You solved the problem I was having.
It was the pop up blocker causing the problem. I did put
Microsoft Update on the allow list and was able to access
the update information.

Glad you found it. Could you please tell us the name of your popup-ad remover-program?
