Can anyone confirm:

Scan Mode: 35mm Slide and/or
Media Type: Slide Film

are broke. When previewing scanner will position to image to scan
then give a long, loud beep. Image displayed is basically noise. If
settings are for negatives all is well.

Anyone ??? Thanx

I am running Windows XP Home.

Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV film scanner, works properly with Color Slides,
Color Negatives and Black & White Negatives.

The software version I have is 1.0.0 of the Minolta Scan dual IV. I am using
the TWAIN interface to Irfanview 3.85 and Adobe Elements 2.0

I do not have any Black & White slides to test with.

I am scanning the color slides in the Slide holder supplied with the
scanner.

If you are using the film strip holder with color positives, I don't know
what you would get.

I did find one condition the scan dual IV appears to hang, If you change the
setting in the output size text box by one pixel, the scanner takes a very
long time. I put the settings back to the default and all was well.

Ed, I got exactly the same problem with 35mm slides.
After a few working scans, and having already registered the software,
vuescan stopped working: every scan provokes a long beep caused by
a failure in the transport mechanism driver (I think) so the slide
cannot be transported to the position of the ccd. Therefore,
the scanned image is quite unuseful.

I had to reinstall the Minolta software (working perfectly), and
I'm preparing for Ed Hamrick an e-mail along with the support
infos needed to him.

Bye,
Andrea

Andrea,

I have already reported it to Ed but please send your bug report in as
well. Did you notice the "number of passes" problem as well? Let's
give this combo a good workout and report problems here immediately
and to Ed so that we can get the fixes we need ..... Ed (not Hamrick)
