Hi All
I have a new t1 line that is preconfigured with own set of dns and ips.
We currently run DNS, no dhcp, dc, no global cat, no exchange[it is
routed the hq]
Box 1 routes the traffic(no outside access)
We now have a router, and 2 managed switches
I used a crossover cable to connect from box 1 to box 2 and box 2 to
box 3
The T1 goes to the router from router to box 2
And on my workstation which is currently joined to the Box 1------- I
added ip/dns/subnetmask/gateway to my workstation. I was able to access
the internet and the unix servers after making that entry. But the
mapped drives stopped working. I got it back working once I mapped it
ip address instead of name of the machine.
So where and what would I add in the active directory to get the
mapping right? And do it all once from the active directory perpective.
Do I add it as dns zone? Or add it as a subnet in site msc.
I think now the best solution is to change ip to reflect the new one.
or use the method I did on the 1 workstation.
Thanks in Advance
Joe
