another rpc case(and some other stuff)

hmm... seems to be a disease of some sort... all this rpc
stuff... maybe we should post some information see what's
in common.

I am in pacific time zone, comp manufactured by compaq,
shut usually occur while accessing internet.

shutdown occured at:
8/4/2003 03:01:38.640
8/4/2003 18:52:12.765
8/4/2003 23:13:17.812
8/4/2003 23:42:27.062
8/5/2003 00:57:03.109

you can find the times when errors occured in eventsystem.
log file inside your windows directory.
The latter 3 occured while using internet explorer, so
maybe you can prevent it by not using IE but use another
browser... like opera, or netscape, or mozilla...

on a side note the time zone and pc manufacturer might be
important because it might only be happening to comps in a
specific area or by a specific manufacturer...

Open XP's "Help and Support" and type: FIREWALL , and hit enter.
