For everytime you manually create a restore point in WinXP Home, do
the previous ones get deleted? For example, say you create one in
March and then create another one in April, does the March one get
deleted? If in May I decide I want to restore the computer to a
previous state, do I get to choose the restore point I want to use,
can I use the one from March instead of April?

Mike;
It is more of a space issue and not a quantity issue that determined
when older Restore Points are deleted.
When space is short, System Restore deletes the older Restore Point.
Normally Restore Points are created daily or when other significant
action occurs.
You can choose from any of the available Restore Points.

See this for more about System Restore:

A matter of disk space, not number of resoter points.

When you open system restore look on left side under the text for:-

System Restore Settings

and click on that then click on System Restore tab (if not already
selected) and you can adjust the disk space used.
