No problem just another strange one?

PC Running nicely no problems whatsoever I am just curious that’s all

MOBO Pc-chips M848A Rev2.1:D

CPU AMD Sempron 2300+

BIOS CPU temperature 36C

Sensor view/Everest etc: CPU temperature 65C:eek:

Feels cool to the touch [straight after shutdown]??

Mucks it’s a cheapy build;)

very hot

CPU temp is a bit high at 65c:eek: you may need a bigger fan on it!
PC Chips motherboard, you may have started something here!!!

The question is which is correct BIOS Reading or sensor program?

Nope have used them often over a 3 Year period but not now unless someone wants a cheap PC, little or no problems about 200 of them actualy and only one DOA;)

yeah sounds like you need a new fan or it could be the temp sensor is faulty. I would buy a new bigger fan and see if that makes any difference, if not that the temp censor is kaput.

Those Semprons' run cool even with the stock HS ... so I would believe the BIOS temp reading. ;)

Download that temp monitor from crunchers corner and see if it is reading the "sensors" properly. Knowing ECS/PCChips have a nasty habit of using inferior components, I would say the sensor is not to be believed.

Put a safety match on the HS near, but not on, the base ... if it lights within 60secs you are running hot, if it lights within 20sec your running bloody hot ... if it don't light-up, strike it on the matchbox just to make sure you ain't using a dud match. :thumb:

;)

Mucks

the match lit!! and I dropped it in the PC so I threw water on it to extinguish the flames, now I have another question it wont boot up why??? strange that.

Oh gawd ...

You'll have to dry the PC first ... put the oven on low, about regalow 100 should do it, pop the PC into the oven for a few hours ... it'll be allight.

:thumb:

Oh, your sensor must be right then ... hot. ;)

Oh, yeah, I would remove the CD ... the plasic coating melts. It's a bugger then to open the CD tray. ;)

If you have a fan-assisted oven the PC I'll be fine ... cheap enough, Curries has a sail on, and I know your dear Lady would like one.

Oh, turn it down a tad though, them fan-assisted are a little warmer than the other models. :thumb:

Mine is a gas oven so I set it to 3 I have taken the XP disc out it`s in the oven now had a hell of a job, had to take all the shelves out first and even then it was a tight fit, two hrs will be enough yes?:thumb:

Well of course you have to take the shelves out ...

Did you weigh it first? ... you need 20mins a Ib & 15min for good measure ... 2-3hours should see it well cooked ... err, well dried I mean.

Look i know it's a pc chips motherboard BUT you can not cook them in the oven, they are not like oven chips:p

OK Mucks its dried out but;
I have a few problems it has booted up ok,:thumb: now I find looking at the inners the CPU is where the RAM should be, the RAM is where the GC should be, the MOBO is back to front, the PSU is upside down, the front panel is at the back, the CD ROM is upside down [the discs keep falling out] the floppy drive is facing the side panel, the HDD was 40G now its only 20G [must have shrunk when I watered it] the PCI slots are now AGP slots, and vice versa, the wiring is all coloured the same nice shade of brown:cool:
Other than that it’s A OK:D

The misses dropped it, as it was still hot when she took it out of the oven. Oh and it took 20 mins to cool down, and still its running cool 36C

Wanna bet ... it'll come out nice-n crispy ... they use 6 layered PCBs, don't they?

Never put anything in the cavity of a turkey and always save the giblets for the gravy. :)

You watch ... all will be fine, be better than that 3 legged horse you're all betting on. :p
