anotate image quickly : how ?

Hello all,

i'm looking for an efficient and light freeware tool
to annotate very quickly some picture.
Example : i want to write the description,
write the name, the date... or anything else and
in a click save a copy of the anotated pic.
Not drawing, just write some words easely
with quick saving. Brutal efficacity, not artistic
work.

I can use photoshop but not light enough :)
and not easy as i'm expected for.
I'm looking for something light and quick.

PS : i don't want to use the meta (exif, iptc, etc) :
i want to write some text on the pic, and of
course not crypted...

PS2 : and the text may vary : not a signature tool.

Any idea welcome,

Use your mouse to draw a text box. From the edit menu select insert
text.
