Greetings,

I have located a strange file native to Windows 2000
Server. The file is located in:

c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\

The file is simply called: Quotes

I know the file is not a virus, nor is it a DNS route
list. It seems to be, literally, a list of quotes (some of
which were coined by George Bernard Shaw).

A search on Google referenced ONE website with information
suggesting it is a subroutine of TCPSVCS, but that is all
I could find.

I was hoping one of you knew what this was.

Thank you

It's the default quote file for the Quote of the Day service. It's part of
the Simple TCP Services.

Search on "RFC 865" for the details.
