annversary notification

Years ago we had a lotus program that would look up dates in a column and compare it with the date that was entered in a cell. it would then list all the people that had an anniversary date for that month in another location in the worksheet. first col was name, second col was the hiredate. I need to create a lookup for excel. I lost the lotus file. I am also new to this site. Hope someone can help me out with a formula. Thanks.
