Hi,
Recently, I updated my computer with a new motherboard,
casing and cpu. (See *** below for more details)
Since this time, I have the following 2 boot up problems
with windows XP Pro.
- The blue progress bar stop moving on the first windows xp pro
boot up screen (windows xp on the black background right after the
operating system choice)
- Sometime I just see a fade image of this boot up screen ...
After 2 or 3 reboot, the computer boot up normally.
(Same things for cold and hot reboot)
Here's some things I tried in order to solve the problem
without any sucess:
- Re-install windows xp on a new partition
- Try another set of ram
- Upgrade all drivers and BIOS to the latest available
- Lower the AGP to 4X instead of 8X
- Disable the option fast write for my video card
- Verify the HD for bad cluster
- Try safe and optimize BIOS setting
Except this annoying problem, everything works very stable
after the system complete the boot up !
Here's my computer parts in detail:
*** MSI K7N2 Delta2 LSR
*** AMD Athlon XP 2800+
Kingston value 512 megs
WD 120 gig HD IDE
Asus Geforce 6600 AGP (8X)
*** Antec Sonata II with smartpower 450 watts PS
Creative labs SB audigy 2 value
Benq DVD writer
Mitsumi floppy + memory card reader
I really appreciate if someone could takes some times to help
me ;-)
Thanks in advance,
Pierre-Etienne
