Annoying video confirm pop-up

Hi All,

Is there a way to stop this confirmation that you want to run a video
link ?

Please refrain from answering like this. I don't need to explain why I
want to do it unless it is relevant in order to find a solution. The feature
is in the software to do it so why cant I do it ?

I would prefer to not embed the Video I am trying to run, why .... size
.... I don't want to e-mail the video... the presentation itself will be
enough.

Please consider when you reply, there is a good chance other MVP's with
a real answer will overlook the post thinking it has been answered.

Sorry to sound negative but it annoys me to ask a question and have this
kind of response.

Hi TAJ,

Thanks for your reply and it kinda works. This solution will only work
when you are linking HTTP or FTP. I am linking a Video from another
directory.

Any idea how to stop that one ?

Sometimes it is though. We get a lot of requests for very specific "How do I
get PPT to ...." kinds of things, and often the answer is "You can't". But if
we learn what the user's trying to do and why -- the problem -- rather than
just the user's idea for a possible solution to the problem, sometimes there
are other solutions that do work.

Hence Austin's question.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. We're too familiar with one another's
frailties to trust one another's answers that blindly ;-)

The fact that a post has been answered isn't likely to take it out of the
running, I promise.

Sorry but the answer and question I asked are directly related to the
problem you are having. Hyperlinking to the movie will generate the
messages you are seeing, The answer to that problem is to not use
hyperlinking. Hence, my question about was there a specific reason you were
doing it. (It is relevant to finding a solution.) Fact is Wayne, I don't
bother asking questions unless there is a reason for it. I don't have that
kind of time.

Now to address the rest of your post. You need not worry about the video
embedding in the presentation. Video is always linked no matter how you go
about placing it on the slide. It never becomes "part of the presentation"
and has nothing to do with the size of the presentation file or emailing the
presentation without the video. Instead of hyperlinking, use the regular
Insert features. Your warning messages will no longer be a problem.


PS: See, when we have a better idea of what you are trying to do and why
you are doing it the way you are, we are able to give an answer that solves
the issue. That would be why I asked. :-)
