About a week after I upgraded from Windows ME to XP, I
lost my hard drive. Total Crash! I got a new hard drive
and had a bit of trouble activating it because I was
stupid. However, I did manage (with a little help from
my friends) to get XP installed on my new 40gig Western
Digital. I have a few things on my new (revitalized)
system that annoying me, but one thing at a time:
How do I tell my system that I do not have a local
network. I have only one computer, but in the systray
(next to the 'time' function I have two little computers
with an 'X' in front. When I rest the pointer on this
icon I get a message that "a network cable is unplugged".
I don't have a network cable to unplug. How do I get rid
of this annoying icon. There are a few more annoying
things, but like I said.....One thing at a time.
Thanks to anyone who can tell 'this newby' about this.
