When opening Explorer it shows the message “If you are seeing this page
instead of the site you expected, please contact the administrator of the
site involved†and the legend “It Worked!†in the place where the name of the
page is supposed to appear.

It’s the start page I want to see when opening the Explorer, all other pages
like yahoo, microsoft, etc work fine. It only happens when accessing the page
from one specific computer at home, the other computer at home and the one at
the office display the same start page OK.

Is it some kind of virus? Any tools to remove it? I have antivirus updated,
searched for virus, firewall on and everything working fine.

I found some sites over the internet talking about some Apache Server stuff.
What could be wrong? Where can I see what is loaded when I start Internet
Explorer? Some *.ini file? What file is the start page address stored?

Thanks Frank. The page I'm trying to reach is www.elnorte.com by
"administrator of the site" you are refering to elnorte.com site
administrator or the broadband ISP I use to connect to the Internet?

People at elnorte.com say that I'm probably using Apache server (?)... Am I
using Apache Server? I mean, me in my desktop computer? My computer is a
server?

Could it be that some malicious program changed something somewhere that
causes that, when I try to open specifically www.elnorte.com or
http:/elnorte.com shows this message? All other pages, including other
www.elnorte.com pages, for instance www.elnorte.com/news work fine, just
www.elnorte.com shows that message...

The site works fine here on IE7.
You would know if _you_ were using an Apache server, but I don't know any
way to tell if your ISP is using an Apache server besides calling them and
asking.

There is nothing in that site's page which would cause the symptom
you are describing.

People at elnorte.com say that I'm probably using Apache server (?)... Am I
using Apache Server? I mean, me in my desktop computer? My computer is a
server?

Ask them what they mean. Depending on the type of server they are
thinking of it could be that they think that you are connecting to them through
a proxy server. Are you? Ask your ISP. Also, check in your Options,
Connections tab, Settings... do you have *anything* checked in there?
If so, you might be using a proxy server even if you don't need to.
If you have different settings there from the settings that your other home
computer has that could explain the difference in symptoms. Etc.

Yes. A hijacker of some kind is another possibility.
In spite of the prevalence of such cases I would try eliminating
the simpler possibilities first. ; )

Good luck
