ANNOYING LITTLE PROBS

MY COMPUTOR MAKES AN AWFUL SCREECHING SOUND AS IT FINALLY
CLOSES DOWN, ANYBODYELSE GET THAT, ANY IDEAS? ALSO I HAVE
GOT PIXELA IMAGEMIXER INSTALLED WHICH HAS BEEN WORKING
FINE UNTIL RECENTLY ITS NOW TAKING 2-3 MINUTES TO LOAD?.I
DID PRIOR TO THIS, INSTALL WINRAR AND PARTITION MAGIC 8.0
BUT DECIDED THEY WERE OF NO USE TO ME AND FAR TO
COMPLICATED FOR ME TO USE AND HAVE SINCE REMOVED
THEM.WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP, PIXELA COULD NOT HELP!

It sounds like your Mobo or Power Supply are going . But, to be on the safe
side. Do some maintenance.

First go here to DL Ewido; http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ An excellent
malware scanner w/a fully functional 14 day trial.

Delete all temporary files go to MyComputer/right click on LocalDisc
applet/select Properties from Drop Down Menu/under the General tab select
Disc Cleanup

Start/Run/SFC /Scannow to make sure no OS System files are corrupted

MyComputer/right click 'Local Disc/ select Properties from drop down
menu/Tools tab/select ErrorChecking/select Check Now. Reboot and the scan
will run. When through, close all programs, go back to LocalDisc and select
Defrag

If problem persists install Ewido along w/the updates and scan from Safe
Mode

If problem still persists do a System Restore.

If problem continues get back to us.
 
SOZ ABOUT THE CAPS I'M NOT SHOUTING IT'S JUST THE WAY I
DO IT! The problem still persists.I have uninstalled,re-
installed,defraged,disc cleaned,disc checked. Disc is
quite healthy according to the (management)side of "my
computer"Sounds like i'll just have to put up with.!
P.S.I'm on windows xp home sp2, zone alarm
home,Msas,Adware-home,
Avast 4.6 home and now also "Ewido" which did by the way
did identify 21 infections. Anyway thanks for the advise,
it's like i said it's just an annoying little problem i'm
sure i can handle. REGARDS CDLANEY

==> YW. Ewido is a keeper if you can afford it. Methinx the prob is a PS or
Mobo
