Annoying DING

did anyone out there have the same problem and if so how did you fix it.
Problem: Every time I open internet explorer it will seem like it's not
working then it will "DING" and all is well. Excapt it will do the same
thing every so offten. even when I go to a new web page. this is annoying.

Does a yellow bar appear at the top of the page?
(Underneath the toolbars)
