Not me

My computer did an automatic update last week and ever since then whenever
I turn it on I get the little window which tells me "the computer must be
restarted to install the update". Any idea how I can get rid of this
message for good (I've restarted the computer dozens of times already)?

Many thanks for any help.

Follow the instructions in the Adobe article I listed and see if it applies. You
might also check at the Adobe web forums to see if there is any mention of this
problem in relation to Acrobat Reader.

Although the article did not apply (and the Adobe forums are down for
maintenance for 2 days), your suggestion led me to a suggestion in the
article anyway: remove Adobe 8 and reinstall it. I also noticed that last
time it installed another program with it (Photoshop Album Starter
Edition), so this time I did not download that program, and now everything
is running perfectly.

Many thanks for your suggestion which solved my little problem.

Glad you figured it out. It's hard to say whether the Album Starter had anything to
do with it, or if there was just an error in the original Acrobat installation, but
your resolution was probably the best method to use.

I never install those added-on apps some installers bring along with them. I'd
forgotten Adobe was pushing that Photoshop app. Some installers I have used
recently try to bring along Google Toolbar and Google Desktop, with the boxes
pre-selected. It pays to look at each installer window carefully before clicking
OK. :-)
