Annoying behaviour in Powerpoint: 2nd line of list doesn't line up

Hi there,

When I use a bullet list I often remove the bullet (by typing backspace).
Then when I type and my paragraph is long and goes onto the next line the
second line is indented further than the first line.

I can fix this by showing the ruler and playing with the second line indent
however my other colleagues really struggle with this.

I was hoping that someone has a workaround to stop this behaviour or good
suggestion as to how to deal with this easily.

Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

Moving the indent caret on the ruler is the way to do it.

You could create a template that has a "no-bullet" option with the indent
already set, but that can cause different user-education issues.

One is, they have to use the Indent buttons on the Ribbon (2007) or toolbar
(2003) (or use Shift+Alt+Arrow) to demote the next line of text; otherwise
(like if they use Tab) the 2nd line will also have no bullet. Two is, you
have to teach users how to use the different layout.

Both of these can be as problematic as teaching them to use the ruler in the
first place.

I agree, PPT should handle no-bullets better.

Thanks Echo S

I appreciate the comments from an MVP. Hopefully this will get better in
later versions and we won't have the education issues that this causes.
