Every time I put a CD ROM into my computer or plug in some hardware into the USB port, this really annoying automatic menu thing comes up and asks, what action do you want to take. I dont like it. I hate it. I keep trying to select, 'take no action' and check that little box that says do this every time....but EVerytime I put in a CD, or god forbid plug in something into the USB the same annoying menu ALWAYs comes up. arghhh! help me.

Next time it pops up select what you want it to do, then check that checkbox
that says something like use this app every time and don't ask me again. The
last selection in the list should be Do Nothing.

For the CD-ROM:

In My Computer right click and the drive and select Properties. Look at the
AutoPlay tab.

A simple way to permanently stop this is to...........
Start/click My Computer/rightclick your CD-Rom (may be "D" drive)/click Properties/AutoPlay tab
Untick the "Prompt me each time.............."/click Apply and OK
