BHODemon 2.0 is now available for download at:

Think of BHODemon as a guardian for your Internet browser: it protects
you from unknown Browser Helper Objects (BHOs) in two ways:

o First, by letting you enable/disable them individually.

o Second, by alerting you immediately when some website
or program installs a BHO on your PC.

BHODemon is free, runs in the "tray" area, and works on Windows 95 or
later operating systems. (For Windows 95, you will probably need a
recent version of Internet Explorer - that is, IE 4 or later.)

Great program. One of my favorites!

Hold on to the older version. Some of the small app collectors may not like
the newer version quite as well. The new one is geared more to inexperienced
users and catching BHO's real time. This can be good or bad, depending on
the user.

Shouldn't you say: "A guardian for Internet Explorer". This app is
not needed for other browsers, such as the excellent Firefox. :)

It rocks so much I just uninstalled it yet again. It still renders too
slowly for my liking. It still does not have common browser features without
adding many extensions and plugins.

...well...honestly, I was using 98 with only 60 ram half year ago
and I wasn't dare to touch anything like that - just too slow on
the system... but after the upgrade, it seems fine here and run
pretty solidly.

It still does not have
common browser features without adding many extensions and
plugins.

If one used other IE shell before, it could be true.

I put Firefox on my PC and downloaded a crap can full of plugins; when
it tried to install them, it froze, I deinstalled and reinstalled and
Firefox won't launch at all.

Not interested; stay with MYIE2.

Well, I'm staying with Maxthon, but I'll be checking out every few Firefox
updates. I really like the idea of Firefox, but it just isn't up to par for
me yet.

Why so? What advantage do you see?

None right now.

There's nothing I would like better than to have a usable alternative to IE
some day. It's not happening right now, but maybe some day.

I'm still waiting for MS to surprise everyone by exorcising IE from the OS.
