I have added text and added a zoom in effect - it doesn't
work! I have tried other effects - No luck.

I am on a clean install of XP pro & office 2003

any help would be great.

thanx.

Hi "Mnemonic",

I use the same program version on my computer and for me it works. (I assume
you know, that you see animations only in slide show mode, not while you're
working on a presentation?)

Can you describe more detailed HOW you did it?

Kind regards,
Ute

Can you tell me how you are animating?

Yes sure,
Select Text box Tool,
Create Text Box - Add Text,
Right Click on Text Box > Custom Animation
Add Effect > Motion Path > Diagonal Up Right.
Hit Play Button for preview - works fine.
Hit F5. Animation does not work. Although text appears
somewhere along path but is 'frozen' in that position. it
is in a different position each time I F5. (Btw I'm running
a 2.8ghz 1 gig Ram, no other programs running)
Tried Clicking, setting time delays, after previous, with
previous etc.

Also Insert picture.
Select "SomethingAnimated.gif"
Can't see it at all.
F5 - Still can't see it
Check .gif with windows picture and fax viewer. - works fine.

Also tried Saving the file on both of above as .ppt & .pps
and they still do not work.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Sonia,
Thanks for responding. I have a 256mb geforce card as it
is only just off the shelf I don't think it's drivers are a
problem. Maybe I should have stated it before but I am in
no way a newbie to computers or Office for that matter.
There is nothing wrong with my system. Everything else
works fine.
I had office XP before & powerpoint worked fine. I program
in AS2, which can sometimes be CPU intensive - No Problems
there.
The problem is something to do with Powerpoint 2003.

Yes, but your computer was probably built a few months before you
received it, so you should at least see if there are any updated video
drivers available before dismissing the idea out of hand.

You might also try changing your hardware acceleration.
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00129.htm

Video driver issues comprise something like 80% of the problems of this
type.
