I can't find it so I'm asking. How can one get rid of as much sliding,
jumping, wiggling, squirming, hopping, snorting around, distracting window
animation as possible? (If I want a movie I'll get one.)

Right click My Computer | Properties (Or press WinKey+Pause/Break)
Advanced tab | First Settings button | Choose "Adjust for best performance"
Click OK | OK
