I am trying (like crazy) to animate just one word in a
line of text in Powerpoint. Is this possible?? I would
like to have a sentence and then when I click have one
word fade out. Please Help!!!

Using PPT 2002/2003 you can animate each line, but no version supports
animating just one word in a text box (of many words). Here is your best
option. Create a new text box that has just that word in it. In the original
text box delete the word and add in spaces to make room for your new text
box/word to be positioned over. To make your word fade out, just animate the
new text box.

I would use a single color background.

In slide one, have the complete text.

In slide two, color the chosen word to be the same color
as the background. Fade from slide one to slide two and
the word "disappears."
