Can you have a slide start off with several objects visible in presentation
and then have each object disappear from the slide one at a time? Sort of a
reverse animation instead of having several objects fly in one at a time?
Any help is appreciated, I have racked my brain on this one.

Julie,

This is a new feature of powerpoint 2002/XP.

With previous versions you have to fake it by using multiple slides

e.g.

Slide 1 - now you see all 5 objects
slide 2 - now you only see 4 object
etc

If you have PowerPoint 2002 or 2003 you can use an "Exit" animation. In
earlier versions you would need to use multiple slides to show the objects
as "gone".

Julie,
Did you get an answer to your question yet, I do not see one so I will have
a go. It depends on your PPT version if you have PPT 2002 or ppt 2003 add an
exit effect on your objects. To do that activate the task pane custom
animation and choose the exit effect.
In earlier versions, duplicate the slide with the objects a few times and
delete items on each slide till you have none, set the slides to transition
automatically after 0 seconds.
Hope this helps
Luc

If you are using PowerPoint 2002, 2003 or 2004 you can do what you require
with Exit animations.

If you are using a solid backgroud, you can draw a box fill it with the
same color and have that animate in on top of the object to cover it up.
Using dissolve makes it appear that the object is going away.
