Animation corruption on other computers

I have sent an animation-rich presentation to a client - who claims that the
animation has become corrupted. They were able to get it up and running on
one computer, but on all of the others it comes in like PowerPoint 2000,
limited to one animation at a time. They claim they're all on Windows XP and
Vista — I am at a loss as to how I can fix this problem.

Has anyone come across this issue? Can anyone steer me in the right
direction?

They can't be on Windows XP and Vista on the same computer -- those are both
operating systems. Which version of Office / PowerPoint are they using?
That's what's important here.

If it's Office XP (aka PPT 2002) or 2003, then have them go to Tools |
Options | Edit and make sure they haven't disabled "new animation effects"
by ticking that box at the bottom of the dialog.

PowerPoint 2002/XP and above introduced new animations which PowerPoint 2000
and below will not be able to play it. You can have them download the free
PowerPoint Viewer 2003, which will allow them to view the presentation
correctly:

Alternately, you can convert the presentation into exe, with the viewer
embedded:

That's what it sounded like to me too — but they verified that they're using
PowerPoint 2002/XP and PowerPoint 2007, so that isn't the problem. It's
very strange that it comes up properly on one of their laptops and no other
computer in their office. I sent them a Packaged CD which works, but they
need to be able to edit and play around with the presentation.

Any other suggestions?

that's exactly what they've done!! Thanks. (BTW, they have tried it on
various computers in the office - and none seem to work. Most are on XP and
one is on Vista).

If they are on 2002/XP and above, the solution that Echo posted should works
then.

PowerPoint 2002/XP was delivered with the old PowerPoint 97 Viewer. If they
for some reason use the viewer instead of the full version of PowerPoint to
view the presentations, they will not see the new animation effects. Have
them download and install the new 2003 viewer.

Which version of PowerPoint did you use to create the presentation?

Best regards,
Ute
