I'm new to PowerPoint. I have a powerpoint presentation that when I click on a graphic, the hyperlink brings up a web page. This takes about a minute and I would like to add an animation of a little man watching the clock. Is there a way to trigger the animation before the hyperlink is engaged so my viewers have something to look at while waiting for the web page to come up?
Thanks. Elaine

Which version of PowerPoint are you using? PowerPoint 2002 (XP) introduces
triggers - they enable you to trigger an effect on a shape when another
shape is clicked. You can insert a GIF or movie file on the slide and set
Appear as the Entrance effect for it. Set the trigger for it from your
hyperlink.

Look at http://www.mvps.org/chirag/ppttips.html - a couple of presentation
effects there demonstrate the use of Triggers.

- Chirag
