Animated move title graphics maker

I recently purchased a dvd burner and have been playing with creating
movies with it. The software included does an adequate job of scene
transitions ect but nothing except ugly static text titles are
available. Does anyone know of any decent software that can create
animated text graphics for movie titles and credits? Freeware is
preferred of course.

Microsoft MovieMaker2 can create titles for avi, wmv, and mpeg files.
It's a free download.

It appears this is is a WindowsXP product, I am running Windows 98SE
and refuse to downgrade to XP

But thanks anyway
