Animated images in video

Okay, tell me if anyone knows how to make this work...

So I wanted to put some animated pictures in a video, like the ones you see
on myspace (the motion icons, the glitter effects) but it keeps giving me an
error message. I think it's because it's a GIF file so it doesn't work with
Windows Movie Maker. The only other option of saving for an animated picture
is a BMP file which doesn't allow the picture to be animated after it's saved
like that.

So um... help? haha
Is there a way to save it as a movie file maybe? So it will work with
Windows Movie Maker?

What is the error message?

Animated .gif files work in my copy of
Movie Maker 2.1...are you running Win
XP or Vista?
