Animated icons and music stopped working

Ted Schomaker

These were working fine on my website and I noticed they
stopped working. They work on my other computer. They are
turned on in the Advanced settings. It is just the IE
browser on my main computer that has the problem. Is
there a way to do a repair on the IE? I am using XP Pro,
and IE 6.0 with all the updates.

I am not running a firewall. I do have a popup stopper. A
while back I was getting a popup blocked on my site, and
I don't have any popups on my site. I was also getting
error messages about running scripts. I will try that
script rebuilder on the site you mentioned. I also didn'y
have VM installed. I installed it and rebooted. Still no
animations.

Take note of the mention of firewalls like @Guard as others like Zone
Alarm Pro and NIS may also have a disable option.

Does that mean you have XPsp2?
Then you can try the new IE6sp2 repair tool:

iexplore /rereg
