animated gifs and images viewing problem (Advanced)

I recently updated my computer with a new mobo and
processor. reformatted hard drives and installed a fresh
copy of XP Pro on NTFS!

Problem is I cannot view animated gifs or images! I have
changed the settings in IE 6 to *view animations* and
disabled my zone alarm pro to allow everything to pass
through it, and still NO JOY!

I have played with the settings and lowered security,
disabled the built in firewall, gotten all the updates,
but still No Joy! I really need help here......
