I have just installed Office 2007 with PowerPoint. Running a
presentation with animated gifs I find they keep repeating. This did not
happen with the previous version of PP. I want the graphic to appear
(and go through the sequence one) when I bring on the slide so I have
not set "add effect".

I have tried "add effect-entrance-dissolve in-start with
previous-timing-repeat-none" but the damn thing still loops. Any
suggestions?

This is a function of the animated gif, rather than PP.

The "loop" is specified when compiling the gif.

If you download a program such as Microsoft GIF Animator or buy Photoshop,
you can remove the loop manually.

Thank you - that worked. However, it shouldn't be necessary. The
animation worked OK (with one loop) in the previous version (PP2003). In
PP2007 the timing options for both speed and repeat are greyed out. Is
this unique to my version? Is there a patch to fix it? I even converted
to .pptx but it made no difference. I begin to regret that I paid good
money to MS for a product that does less. The same suite has Word which
no longer allows to fax a document without buying an extra facility, so
these upgrades are retrograde.

I used to think that criticisms of Ms were unjustified, now I am not so
sure

Anyway, thanks for your input.
