I inserted an animated .gif with stops in Powerpoint 2000 slide but it keeps looping. I checked the .gif with the designer and set it not to loop in Powerpoint but still no luck. It should run once abut keeps on going? Suggestions

Please email (e-mail address removed)

Hi,

You can't control how many times animated gif's loop in PowerPoint. They'll
loop endlessly as long as the slide is displayed unless you set the gif to
hide on the next mouse click and animate another object after it.. Sorry.

HTH,
Glenna

Yes, that's the case in PPT 2000.

PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP) seems to respect the GIF header information and
animate the gifs according to that setting.

PPT 2003 does this as well, except there's a bug with some gifs -- and those
don't animate at all.

Just posting that additional info for anyone else following the thread.
