Article 187222 in Knowledge Base provides solutions for
this problem in Win 98 but it recurs in XP: if you clear
the "Animate windows when minimizing and maximising"
checkbox in Control Panel \ System \ Advanced tab \
Performance settings \ Visual effects (or clear the "Use
the follwing transition effect ..." box in Properties \
Appearance \ Effects after right-clicking the desktop), the
box is rechecked when you next start up; in other words the
user's setting is overridden by the time the next session
begins.
Does anyone know a solution to the problem in XP?
